Objectives of Uttar Pradesh State Open School
The Uttar Pradesh State Open School aims to provide distance education at the school level for all individuals who cannot enroll in a recognized educational institution. This initiative ensures that everyone has the opportunity to receive an education, regardless of their circumstances.
Empowering Rural Girls and Women
The program focuses on rural girls, women, and all individuals who, for various reasons, cannot access formal education. Through the State Open School, they will have the opportunity to learn at their own pace. This program helps them balance education with livelihood and supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG-4).
Establishment of Uttar Pradesh State Open School Council
With the aim of individual development and the universalization of education, the Uttar Pradesh State Open School Council was enacted in 2008. This board will merge with the currently operating Correspondence Education Institute. The board will provide opportunities for students who are excluded from the mainstream secondary and higher secondary education to participate in the individual examination of classes 9-10 from the academic session 2024-25. It will outline and develop the curriculum for certificate courses at the secondary and higher secondary levels.
Registration and Enrollment
Students who wish to receive secondary and higher secondary education from the State Open School can register at their nearest study center or self-register. The website and other information will be published soon.
